Set in a quiet residential location with fell views from every guest bedroom, Dolly Waggon is just a short, flat walk from Keswick town centre, the shores of Derwentwater, and the Theatre by the Lake. Whether you're exploring on foot, by bike, or by bus, you'll find yourself ideally positioned to discover the best of Keswick and the Lake District's charming towns and villages.

We offer five ensuite rooms to suit all guests: one single, two doubles, and two superking/twin rooms—all featuring full central heating, double glazing, flat-screen TVs, hairdryers, and hospitality trays.

Keswick

As a very popular tourist town, Keswick possibly has as many places to eat and drink as it has to visit and shop. Walk out the door of Dolly Waggon and in just a few streets you have reached the bustling town centre but, if it’s peace and quiet you yearn for then travel on foot, by bike or car in any direction and peace and quiet you will quickly find.

No car? No problem! There is a good bus service from Keswick to all the most popular places, including an open-top bus sightseeing through either Borrowdale (simply amazing) or south to Grasmere (just beautiful).

There are some fantastic walks and bike rides directly from the guest house as well and we will gladly offer you advice and maps for your trip.

Breakfast at Dolly Waggon

Guest houses are often referred to as Bed & Breakfast for a reason so we think it naturally follows that after a good nights sleep, in preparation for a busy day in the Lake District, you should start your day with one of our wonderful breakfasts.

Where possible we use local, organic and fair trade products and, if you need us to, can cater for individual dietary needs. We have all the usual culprits so you can begin with juice, cereal or yoghurt and follow on with our generous full English breakfast.

Vegetarian breakfasts and lighter alternatives are also available, such as scrambled or poached eggs on toast, or smoked salmon and scrambled egg on a toasted muffin. Of course whatever your choice there’s always bread, toasted just how you like it, and locally made preserves to round off a breakfast that will prepare you for the day ahead.

About Us

We are a family run guest house, and moved here in April 21, from Coventry. We’ve been visiting the Lakes, especially Keswick, for 15 years, and always wanted to live here. We enjoy meeting a variety of guests, be they walkers, cyclists, sightseers, or just passing through the town. Everyone has a different story.

We enjoy walking, and have recently decided to try and walk all of the 214 Wainwright’s, we’ve walked many of them previously, but now we have the book we need to do them all again!!
