Map & Directions
We look forward to welcoming you to Dolly Waggon and hope you have a safe and pleasant journey to Keswick. If you’re travelling on the M6 motorway, the best approach to Keswick is via the A66 from Penrith leading to the A591 Penrith Rd. Watch out for this turnoff as it’s easy to drive past it by mistake. If you do miss it, don’t worry, they are two more junctions further on. From the exit of the A66 keep left at the bottom, then at the next junction turn right. As you enter Keswick, the River Greta is on your right hand side. As you near the town, there is a long green slate wall flanking the river. Keep your eyes open for a pelican crossing and turn left immediately in front of it – it’s a sharp left, (almost turning back on yourself) – Cumbrian Cottages shop should be on your right as you drive into Southey St. Drive up Southey Street a little way and take the 3rd left – this is Helvellyn Street and we are located about 500 yards down on the left hand side.
If you are coming by bus and are making your way to us on foot from the terminus near the local supermarket (Booths); head for the town centre and market place. Keeping the Moot Hall (the building at the top, middle of the market place) on your right turn left just after Keswick Lodge. Continue up the road to Cumbrian Cottages on the right hand side and turn right. Take the 3rd left – this is Helvellyn Street and we are located about 500 yards down on the left hand side. Total walking time is probably around fifteen minutes.
